Civil Air Patrol Skyhawks Composite Squadron 47 celebrated 50 years as a unit in 2018 and is recognized for its “tradition of excellence” in the Southern California communities. Offering Cadet and Senior Programs to encourage volunteer service, leadership training, and hands-on aerospace education, we invite you to visit our squadron and explore the additional information and CAP links on our website.

Civil Air Patrol Cadets (12-18) participate in youth activities, focusing on aviation as a cornerstone. Cadets learn and promote through a self-paced, sixteen-step program that includes aerospace curriculum, leadership and integrity training, and physical fitness.

Civil Air Patrol Senior Members (18+) actively support the cadet program and do so much more! From flying rescue missions, coordinating ground crew and search teams, helping with STEM/Aerospace education in the community, and continuing their training to promote CAP effectively, these American citizens are proud to be part of the U.S. Air Force’s Total Force.

Squadron 47 meets every Tuesday evening at the Carlsbad Community Church from 6:30 to 9:15 pm. (CAP and Squadron 47 have no religious affiliation, but are grateful for this community meeting space.)

If you are interested in visiting and attending a meeting, please contact us for specific directions and information for entering the military base.
